The Work

The Women

In Laurie S. Sherman's ritual theater, characters are called Women — not roles, not parts. These are the Women who appear across her plays and sacred texts: biblical figures, historical voices, invented witnesses, women who refused to disappear. Each portrait is a sketch — a presence, not a likeness.
